Business Consultant at FactSet Research Systems

JOB PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to expand our global Professional Services team that is part of the Analytics and Trading Solutions COE and the Risk and Quantitative Analytics business line. Currently, the team is based mainly in Sofia, Bulgaria, New York, USA and the newly established Manila, Philippines and the different teams are working together for business continuity and better time zone coverage.
We expect to increase the capacity of our team and provide critical coverage for our clients and projects in across the globe.
The desired end-result is to add capacity and resources to better cover demands in 3 main activities of our team:
Assisting our clients in Production Validation and QA Pre-sales projects
The people we want to recruit in Manila as part of our Professional Services team will be responsible for automating a client environment, designing complex workflows, covering the full flow of financial data in our software – data loads, data checks, calculations, data extracts and reporting.
They will become familiar with all the functionalities of the product, including the different modules and methodologies as well as technical aspects such as: System Architecture, Database and SQL tuning, Web Services.
They will be working with our global team of sales specialists and consultants, as well as interacting with our clients supporting them in their daily operations.
They will be analyzing and solving complex business issues related to client’s investment portfolios, processing data, conducting specific investigations, including software testing
They will become familiar with all the core functionality of the product and understanding the financial logic behind the different modules and financial methodologies
For that purpose, we will provide all the procedures, tools and training required to fulfill this job successfully.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assisting our clients in Production
Assist our clients in production with their business and technical requests, questions and queries from the Risk Management, Portfolio Construction, Reporting Teams of our clients who are usually big Asset or Wealth managers. Provides direct trainings to clients.
Provide critical coverage for our global clients.
Improve response times and quality of assistance provided.

Validation and Quality Assurance

Assist the team in daily validation protocols as well as quality assurance/testing of the software functional modules and data update protocols. As part of the client production processes, we execute daily validation and monitoring on data update protocols, execute QA and testing of client functionalities, liaise closely with PD and SE teams in driving the automation of QA and testing protocols. Timely update and upkeep of client facing product documentation.
Improve, automate and scale software validation and QA process.

Pre-sales projects

Take part in many core components of our pre-sales process, supporting the global team in activities including:
  • Preparation of detailed Proof of Concepts (POC) using prospect data
  • Maintenance of the global demonstration environment

Add capacity to our pre-sales team and address any peaks in demand for, POCs and demo environments

QUALIFICATIONS:

List the knowledge, skills, and experience that allow the job to be performed in a fully competent manner.
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance or Mathematics
  • Genuine interest in capital markets, portfolio management and risk management
  • Strong understanding of the area of risk management, factor-based investing, portfolio construction and optimization
  • Understanding of basic concepts of financial mathematics and statistics.
  • Knowledge of the functioning and application of wide variety financial instruments including standard Stock and Bonds assets as well as complex derivative products such Options, Futures, IR Swaps, Structured Products, Fixed Income instruments with included options, etc.
  • Excellent command of MS Office – MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
  • Good communication skills in client-facing situations
  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Team Player, Enthusiastic and Motivated
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Any of the following skills are a plus:
  • Technical skills to operate with large datasets as well as understanding of basic SQLBasic knowledge of Windows Server administration, Java JMV
  • Experience with Python or other high-level language
  • Participation in the CFA, FRM Program
  • SQL/Database knowledge
  • Technical skills with software applications
  • Speaking other languages than English, e.g. French, German, Mandarin, etc.
