Breakthrough Engineering for a Better World

We look to create tremendous value by solving key industry problems in attractive markets and employing the best people.

Valves that automatically adjust tyre pressure. Heating systems that allow remote troubleshooting via the internet. Oil rigs. Power plants. Robot arms. Coffee machines. At IMI, we deliver breakthrough engineering for a better world.

As a company focused on exploring new technology and new ways of thinking, we see graduates as critical to our future success. So join us on our graduate programme and we’ll make sure you get to work on live projects, develop high-level technical skills and gain end-to-end exposure to the product lifecycle.

The aim? To help you progress through our business as far as your talent takes you. And if you’re anything like our Chief Executive and former graduate Roy Twite, that could be very far indeed.

IMI Way - Doing the 'right thing'

At IMI, we're proud of our engineering heritage. Our ambition is to create value by solving key industry problems. Our employees are proud of IMI's engineering capability - it runs through everything we do. But just as important is our ability to do things the right way. That means being true to our values, working with intergrity, and supporting each other along the way.

Engineering and Non-Engineering Graduate Programmes

Our Graduate Programmes

For graduates looking to build an international career at the cutting edge of engineering and technology, IMI is the place to be. We run engineering, and non-engineering graduate programmes in each of our three divisions – Precision, Critical and Hydronic Engineering.

Our Engineering graduate programmes last two years, and involve doing rotational placements, with at least one placement based abroad. Mentors, placement managers and graduate development team members are on hand to provide expert coaching and support throughout. The aim is for graduates to gain the exposure and experience they need to build an international engineering career.

We also have non-engineering graduate opportunities in Business Development, HR, Project Management, Technology & Digital and Finance. All programmes last between two to three years, and involve rotational placements, with at least one placement based abroad. Mentors, placement managers and graduate development team members are on hand to provide expert coaching and support throughout. The aim is for graduates to gain the exposure and experience they need to build an international engineering career.

Could you help deliver breakthrough engineering for a better world?
